Bainbridge Death Support

Not the reaper.

Stars and seashells are made of me.
I am made of seashells and stars.

I make records of people's lives.

How I got here

Bainbridge Death Support is named the way it is on purpose.

Support, as in: someone shows up, figures out what's broken, and helps you through it. I come from documentary work and digital storytelling, the kind of craft that turns a life into something you can hold.

Bainbridge, as in: where I am. Not who this is for.

motherhood is the most mind-bending experience. Levi, my absolute joy

I live on the south end of Bainbridge Island with my people and my animals. The water is close. The ferry comes and goes.

Motherhood out here is lonely in a way nobody warns you about, so I built somewhere to put it: a private circle for mothers between Seattle and the Olympics, on Suquamish land, where nobody uses their real name. If that is you, come and find us.

Bainbridge Death Support calls home the ancestral lands of the Suquamish People (suq̀wabš, the People of Clear Salt Water) and their Coast Salish relatives, who have tended these shores and waters since time immemorial, and tend them still. It's God's country. I'm so fortunate to be here.

If this place has given you something too, consider giving back through the Suquamish Foundation, which supports the Tribe's cultural revival, education, and community.

Call (206) 617-1199, any time, any day. A receptionist will answer your questions and book a free 15-minute call with me.

Not ready to connect yet? Read the Journal or join my newsletter and get to know my work quietly, from a distance. I don't update it often on purpose.
